Shein and Temu have commenced a two-week trial in London’s High Court regarding allegations of industrial-scale copyright infringement. Shein claims Temu utilized thousands of its proprietary product photographs to market copycat items and gain an unfair market advantage.
Temu, owned by PDD Holdings, denies the allegations and contends that Shein is using litigation to suppress competition. Temu filed a counterclaim seeking damages after a previous injunction forced the removal of numerous product listings. This case represents the latest escalation in a series of global legal disputes between the two rapidly expanding retailers.
