Plug Power's 30 MW Barrow Green Hydrogen Project Reaches Final Investment Decision

Plug Power announced on May 20, 2026, that the 30 MW Barrow Green Hydrogen project in the UK has reached a final investment decision. As part of the deal, the company will supply six 5 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzers to the Green Hydrogen Energy Company joint venture.

• The project will produce approximately 100 GWh of green hydrogen annually to supply Kimberly-Clark.
• The initiative is expected to cut natural gas usage by up to 50% and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 18,300 tonnes.
• This milestone marks the first of three UK projects to move into execution, significantly advancing Plug Power's regional electrolyzer pipeline.
