Philip Morris International (PMI) confirmed plans to launch its IQOS heated tobacco product in Argentina by the end of 2026. The move follows the Argentine government lifting a long-standing ban and establishing a new framework for nicotine products. This regulatory change opens a potential market of 7 million adult smokers.
Managing Director Demian Pintos stated the company aims to offer the flagship product to consumers before the end of this year. PMI is currently accelerating internal processes to establish the necessary operational and commercial infrastructure.
Separately, the WSJ Leadership Institute named PMI to its inaugural Best Companies for the Future list.
