The lawsuit represents over 700,000 people who purchased new-build homes. These qualifying purchases occurred between October 2015 and June 2024.
The UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal must approve the claim before it proceeds. Plaintiffs allege that housebuilders shared sensitive commercial information to weaken market competition.
This conduct reportedly resulted in inflated prices for new-build properties. Total compensation sought ranges from £2.2 billion to £4.5 billion.
The filing follows a UK competition regulator probe settled in October 2025.
