Palantir Technologies filed a formal legal protest against the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) over its procurement practices. The company alleges the agency is wasting taxpayer funds by developing internal software from the ground up. According to a regulatory filing, Palantir claims the DIA is violating federal law by refusing to consider commercially available software for its data analytics infrastructure.

The conflict centers on the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS), a high-value program designed to replace Cold War-era legacy systems. Palantir is contesting the DIA’s decision to bypass private-sector bids for the modernization project. This legal challenge seeks to secure Palantir’s right to compete for the contract and could redefine its relationship with the military intelligence hub.
