Advent International and Stripe have withdrawn their offer to acquire PayPal Holdings Inc.
The consortium proposed the acquisition in July. The offer consisted of $60.50 per share.
The bid valued the fintech pioneer at more than $53 billion. PayPal rejected the initial offer in mid-August.
The company reportedly considered the bid too low. This withdrawal ends negotiations for one of the largest fintech acquisitions in history.
