Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin filed a lawsuit against Roblox and Discord for allegedly deceiving parents and endangering children. The legal action claims the companies prioritized profits over safety and failed to protect minors from online predators.
The complaint, filed under the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, accuses Roblox of neglecting available age-verification tools. Griffin alleges the platform misled parents regarding its safety measures.
Reports of suspected child exploitation on the platform totaled 675 in 2019. These reports rose to more than 13,000 by 2023. Arkansas seeks monetary damages, injunctive relief, and the return of profits earned from state consumers.
