Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson is seeking to lead a class-action lawsuit against Roblox. The suit alleges the company misled investors regarding the effectiveness of its child-safety measures.
This deception caused a combined $21.5 million loss for the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. These financial losses occurred between October 2024 and April 2026.
The lawsuit claims Roblox portrayed its platform as safe while failing to prevent child exploitation and exposure to harmful content. Regulatory actions eventually forced the company to implement mandatory age verification.
In April 2026, Roblox announced that these new safety measures caused user growth to plummet. The company subsequently lowered its annual revenue projection by approximately $1 billion. This announcement triggered a significant drop in the company's stock price.
