The Supreme Court of India accepted a request from Reliance Industries Limited and its partners to settle a $2.81 billion gas migration dispute.
Reliance, BP, and Niko aim to resolve the long-standing conflict bilaterally with the Union government.
A bench led by the Chief Justice of India postponed the final hearing until the third week of July 2026.
The court will dispose of the case if the parties reach a successful settlement.
The legal battle stems from allegations that the consortium siphoned natural gas from ONGC's adjacent blocks in the Krishna-Godavari Basin.
