Rheinmetall AG agreed to sell its civilian automotive business to Munich-based industrial group Aequita.

The provisional sale price totals approximately €350 million. This divestment marks a strategic shift to focus exclusively on the company's expanding defense sector.

The divested unit, formerly known as the Power Systems division, has been a discontinued operation since late 2025. Management expects to finalize the transaction in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

Rheinmetall will concentrate resources on core military and security technologies following the sale. These defense segments are currently experiencing a significant surge in global demand.
