Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe announced a supervised point-to-point driving system for Gen 2 vehicles arriving later this year. This technology functions similarly to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software. The company aims to launch unsupervised eyes-off driving capabilities in 2025.

Scaringe expects autonomous technology to generate new revenue streams through future robotaxi operations. This strategy positions Rivian to compete directly with electric vehicle manufacturers heavily invested in driverless technology.
