Rocket Lab will launch a dedicated mission for Kepler Communications using its new Neutron rocket. The mission will deploy multiple satellites for Kepler’s optical data relay constellation. Launch operations are scheduled to begin no earlier than 2028 from Wallops Island, Virginia.

This deal represents Kepler’s first dedicated commercial launch contract. The company previously deployed its first 33 satellites through rideshare missions. The network provides optical data relay services for commercial and government customers.

The agreement serves as key commercial validation for Rocket Lab’s reusable, medium-lift Neutron rocket. Rocket Lab stated its launch manifest is now approaching full capacity through the end of the decade.
