Viasat has selected Rocket Lab to build a satellite bus for the U.S. Space Force's Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global (PTS-G) program. Rocket Lab will provide a GEO configuration of its Lightning spacecraft platform to host Viasat's advanced dual-band payload. The PTS-G program delivers resilient global satellite communications for military operations.
This deal follows the August 15 launch of eight Rocket Lab satellite platforms for MDA Space to support Globalstar’s communication services. These consecutive projects establish Rocket Lab as a comprehensive space systems provider for multiple U.S. government missions. Rocket Lab stock traded higher in the pre-market session following the announcement.
