Raytheon, an RTX business, secured a $1.1 billion U.S. Navy contract for AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder missiles. The agreement covers the production of infrared-tracking, short-range missiles along with related hardware and software.

This award supports U.S. military inventory replenishment and growing international demand through Foreign Military Sales. Raytheon is increasing its annual production capacity to 2,500 missiles to meet these requirements.

The company will perform most of the work in Tucson, Arizona. Raytheon is also expanding its engineering workforce at the Tucson facility.
