Tony Elumelu’s investment in Seplat Energy through Heirs Holdings has doubled to over $1 billion. This value increase occurred over an eight-month period. Heirs Holdings became the largest shareholder by acquiring a 20.07% stake in December 2025. The initial acquisition cost approximately $500 million.
Seplat Energy's total market capitalization has reached approximately $5.24 billion. The company's shares gained more than 90% in 2026 on the Nigerian and London stock exchanges. This growth followed the acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited from ExxonMobil.
