Nigeria's Senate issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Seplat Energy and other oil companies. They must appear before its Public Accounts Committee.
The summons addresses audit queries from the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). These queries span reports from 2021, 2022, and 2023.
This directive followed the firms' failure to attend a scheduled investigative hearing on Tuesday.
The committee chairman warned of potential legislative sanctions. The National Assembly would invoke its full constitutional powers if companies fail to honor the new summons.
