Taiwanese authorities launched the island's first formal crackdown on semiconductor smuggling by executing search warrants across 12 locations. The Keelung District Prosecutors Office detained three individuals for forging documents to illicitly export high-end artificial intelligence servers. The hardware consists of Super Micro Computer Inc. units equipped with advanced Nvidia chips. Investigators believe the shipments were destined for Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China to bypass U.S. export controls. The raid targeted approximately 50 servers. Each unit is valued at more than $300,000. This investigation follows the U.S. indictment of a Supermicro co-founder in March.
