Taiwanese authorities raided Super Micro Computer’s offices on Monday as part of a criminal probe into alleged smuggling. The investigation focuses on high-end Nvidia AI chips reportedly sent to China in violation of U.S. export controls.

The searches targeted the residences of six individuals and two affiliated companies. These entities include a distributor and a data center operator linked to the server manufacturer.

This operation expands an investigation launched in May that previously led to arrests and server seizures. Super Micro shares fell over 8% following news of the expanded probe.

Super Micro has not been charged and is cooperating with authorities. The company stated it remains committed to ensuring its products are distributed lawfully.
