SanDisk and Kioxia Corporation announced a joint investment exceeding $31 billion in Japan. The multi-year initiative requires government support and extends through 2032.

This capital will expand flash memory wafer production at the Yokkaichi and Kitakami plants. The expansion addresses rising global demand from AI and data-centric applications.

The move strengthens a partnership that has lasted more than 25 years. SanDisk shares (SNDK) rose over 4% in pre-market trading on August 27, 2026.
