The Romanian government exercised its pre-emption right for natural gas from OMV Petrom’s Neptun Deep project. The agreement covers approximately 5 billion cubic meters of gas. Deliveries will take place over a seven-year period beginning in 2027. This volume accounts for 20-25% of OMV Petrom's projected annual output from the Black Sea. The move ensures these supplies are directed to national reserves.

OMV Petrom is currently advancing its Strategy 2030 to transition toward lower-carbon energy. The company recently finalized an 800 million euro deal for sustainable aviation fuel and hydrotreated vegetable oil. These fuels will be produced at the Petrobrazi refinery. The Neptun Deep project remains on track for its first gas delivery in 2027.
