Synopsys announced major advancements in agentic AI for engineering through a collaboration with NVIDIA. At the 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference, the company demonstrated fully autonomous, long-running AI workflows for chip and electronics system design. These NVIDIA-enabled capabilities transform manual engineering tasks into automated, insight-driven processes.
Synopsys also introduced new autonomous AI workflows developed in partnership with Microsoft. AMD is currently evaluating these workflows for chip design applications. Initial results from a new debug closure workflow demonstrated a 40% reduction in cycle time. This advancement potentially saves weeks of engineering effort and increases productivity across the design lifecycle.
