Sony Semiconductor Solutions and TSMC established a joint venture named Advanced Vision Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation.

The new entity will produce next-generation image sensors in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

Sony maintains controlling interest through a ¥465 billion investment.

TSMC will contribute approximately ¥282 billion to the venture.

The partnership integrates Sony’s sensor design expertise with TSMC’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Volume production is expected to begin in 2029.

The venture targets the smartphone market and emerging technology applications.
