SpaceX plans to announce a new multibillion-dollar spaceport on the Louisiana coast to support its Starship rocket program. The facility will occupy an 18-mile stretch of coastline southwest of Lafayette. It will feature both manufacturing and launch sites.

The expansion extends the company’s operational footprint beyond its current locations in Texas and Florida. This development secures land for high-rate launch infrastructure necessary for Starlink and future satellite networks.

A new federal space transportation policy encouraging domestic launch capabilities supports the project. While land acquisition terms remain undisclosed, the move holds strong political support within the state.
