Stellantis NV has suspended operations at its Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy. A shortage of engine components triggered the disruption at the facility.
Unexpectedly high demand for hybrid vehicles strained the supply chain and created production bottlenecks. The Mirafiori plant primarily produces the Fiat 500 model line, which is central to the company’s electrification strategy.
Management is coordinating with the Teksid engine plant to resolve the shortage and realign manufacturing capacity. This suspension underscores the persistent supply chain pressures facing global automakers.
Separately, Stellantis announced two senior leadership appointments effective September 1. These new executives will lead the company’s communications and public policy teams.
