Stellantis partnered with British AI startup Wayve to integrate autonomous driving technology into its vehicles. The collaboration embeds Wayve’s AI Driver software into the STLA AutoDrive platform.
The system provides Level 2++ hands-free, supervised automated driving for city and highway environments. Stellantis plans to launch the first vehicles featuring this technology in North America in 2028.
This agreement builds on a previous strategic investment by Stellantis into Wayve. Wayve’s end-to-end AI approach learns from real-world driving data instead of relying on high-definition maps. The mapless design allows for more efficient scaling across different markets and vehicle types.
