Stellantis is recalling more than 1.3 million Jeep vehicles worldwide due to a potential fire hazard. The recall affects 2021-2025 model year Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models. Owners should park these vehicles outdoors and away from structures because fires can occur while the ignition is off.

An electrical connection in the power steering pump wiring can overheat and ignite nearby materials. The recall includes nearly 1.08 million vehicles in the United States. Remaining affected units are located in Canada, Mexico, and other international markets.

Stellantis reports one potential injury related to the defect but no crashes or fatalities. The company is developing a fix to inspect and potentially replace wiring harnesses or power steering pumps.

The automaker expects the remedy to be available by July. Stellantis will notify owners by mail when they can schedule dealership service.
