The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) denied Suzlon Energy an immediate stay on a ₹29 crore SEBI penalty on July 27, 2026. The tribunal directed SEBI to file a response before the next hearing scheduled for August 7, 2026.

SEBI issued the original penalty in May after alleging Suzlon recognized accounting gains from intra-group transactions that lacked genuine commercial value. Regulators claim these transactions potentially provided a misleading representation of the company's financial health.

Suzlon shares recorded unusually high trading volumes following the ruling. The stock ended the session with a modest price gain despite the ongoing legal overhang.
