Titan Mining expects to begin producing germanium at its New York operations by the end of the year.

The company plans an annual output of 2.5 to 3 tons. This production would satisfy approximately 7% to 10% of total United States demand.

Germanium is a critical metal used for semiconductor manufacturing and defense applications.

The project establishes a domestic supply source following China's imposition of export curbs on germanium and gallium three years ago. Titan Mining aims to reduce Western reliance on Chinese-dominated critical mineral chains.
