T-Mobile began automatically migrating customers from legacy Simple Choice, ONE, and Magenta plans to newer Experience plans. The company is retiring service options up to 15 years old to provide modern features like enhanced 5G and larger hotspot allowances. This transition started in July 2026 and applies automatically to billing cycles.
Many subscribers face price increases of up to $6 per line each month. Analysts estimate the move affects approximately 8 million customers. The migration is expected to increase T-Mobile's annual revenue by more than $288 million.
Subscribers have filed complaints with the Federal Communications Commission alleging the forced migration violates previous Price Lock promises. Unlike a 2023 migration, this transition offers no option to opt-out or retain legacy plans. T-Mobile is completely retiring the older service tiers.
