Tesla launched its autonomous Cybercab ride-hailing service in Austin, Texas. Official rider terms prohibit children under the age of 13 from using the two-seater vehicle. This restriction applies even if an adult accompanies the minor.
The policy is more stringent than Tesla’s Model Y robotaxi service, which permits children as young as eight with an adult. The Cybercab design excludes a steering wheel, pedals, and LATCH/ISOFIX child seat anchors. Passengers must secure booster seats using only the vehicle's seatbelts. Tesla has started limited deployment of the service in Austin.
