Tesla launched its robotaxi services in Dallas and Houston on April 21, 2026. The company announced the expansion through its X account, sharing videos of Model Y vehicles operating autonomously in both cities.
This rollout follows an earlier deployment in Austin. It represents a critical milestone in Tesla’s transition into an AI and robotics powerhouse.
Tesla recently submitted permit applications for its first dedicated, non-public Supercharger stations in Arizona. These facilities will exclusively serve the robotaxi fleet.
The expansion precedes Tesla’s Q1 earnings report. Investors are focusing on AI-related initiatives to offset concerns regarding the company’s core automotive business.
