Tesla (TSLA) shares rose more than 2% on Monday. Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen announced the next-generation Roadster will debut within weeks. Von Holzhausen shared the timeline during a Tesla event in Austria.

The supercar has faced production delays since its initial 2017 unveiling. Tesla originally scheduled the vehicle for a 2020 production start.

The Roadster features a tri-motor system. It achieves a 0 to 60 mph time under 1.9 seconds. The vehicle offers an estimated driving range of 620 miles. This updated timeline precedes previous reports suggesting an August reveal.
