Tesla has begun vertical construction on a dedicated Optimus humanoid robot factory at its Texas Gigafactory. Workers recently installed the first steel structures as part of the site’s North Campus expansion.

The company plans to initiate Optimus production in Fremont, California, before transitioning to high-volume manufacturing in Texas.

Tesla targets a long-term output of 10 million robots per year at the new facility. The company expects high-volume production to begin in 2027.
