Japanese chemical maker JSR plans to construct its first semiconductor materials plant in Taiwan. The facility is expected to become operational as early as 2028.
The investment reportedly totals tens of millions of US dollars. JSR will use the site to supply photoresist directly to TSMC to accelerate development cycles.
Local production eliminates the need to ship material samples from Japan. This strategic move secures long-term orders and reinforces TSMC's manufacturing ecosystem.
