Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is advancing its next-generation A14 process technology for future artificial intelligence applications. This 1.4nm-class technology delivers a 10-15% speed improvement over the 2-nanometer (N2) predecessor at equivalent power levels. The A14 node also offers a 25-30% power reduction at identical speeds.
Development of the A14 technology is currently ahead of schedule. Customer tape-outs are underway for smartphone, high-performance computing, and AI sectors.
TSMC targets pre-production for the A14 node in 2027. Volume production will follow in 2028. The company also plans to launch A13 and A12 node extensions for volume production in 2029.
