TSMC introduced its A13 process technology at the 2026 North America Technology Symposium. The A13 node offers a 6% area reduction and improved power efficiency. Volume production for the A13 technology is scheduled for 2029.

The company projects a 70% compound annual growth rate for 2nm chip capacity between 2026 and 2028. Five fabrication plants will begin volume production to support this expansion.

TSM shares fell over 4% on April 28 despite the technology roadmap. The decline mirrored a broader retreat in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Market reports suggest high sector valuations drove the pullback rather than company-specific news.
