TotalEnergies SE is exploring the sale of a 50% stake in a European renewable energy portfolio. The assets include 1.2 gigawatts of solar and wind farms across France, Germany, Poland, and Spain. The deal carries a potential value of several hundred million euros.
This move follows the company's strategy of selling project stakes after construction to enhance investment returns. TotalEnergies aims for power to constitute 20% of its energy output by 2030. The strategy contrasts with competitors like Shell and BP, which have scaled back clean energy targets. TotalEnergies declined to comment on the potential sale.
