TotalEnergies filed for authorization of the 1.5-gigawatt Centre Manche offshore wind farm in Normandy. This project represents France's largest-ever renewable energy initiative. The application moves the project into the formal regulatory review phase. TotalEnergies submitted technical surveys, environmental assessments, and preliminary designs for the site.

The project requires an estimated investment of €4.5 billion. The wind farm sits more than 40 kilometers off the French coast. The facility will generate approximately 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually. This output will power over one million French homes.

Construction will last three years. The project will employ up to 2,500 people during the building phase. TotalEnergies expects a final investment decision in early 2029. Electricity production is scheduled to begin in 2033.
