TotalEnergies named South Korea’s Daewoo Engineering & Construction as the preferred bidder for the Papua LNG project. The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the central processing facility and wellpads.
The facility will process natural gas sourced from the Elk-Antelope gas fields. This gas then flows to a liquefaction plant located near Port Moresby.
The project aims to produce 6 million tonnes of LNG per year. Appointing a lead contractor marks a critical milestone for the development in Papua New Guinea.
