TotalEnergies acquired a 10% participating interest in Abu Dhabi’s Bab Gas Cap Concession. ADNOC operates the project to develop gas resources at the Bab onshore field.
The project targets a production rate of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day. This acquisition strengthens the long-standing partnership between TotalEnergies and ADNOC.
The move aligns with TotalEnergies’ strategy to add low-cost and low-emission upstream resources. It supports Abu Dhabi’s plan to expand its gas output and LNG value chain.
TotalEnergies also maintains a 10% stake in the related Ruwais LNG project.
