Sembcorp Industries reported a 72% drop in net profit to S$150 million for the first half of 2026.

One-off costs of S$155 million from the Alinta acquisition drove the decline. Underlying net profit fell 25% to S$369 million excluding these items. Weaker performance in the renewables and gas segments contributed to the lower underlying earnings.

The company completed the acquisition of Australian energy firm Alinta in June. Pro forma underlying net profit would have reached S$558 million if Alinta results spanned the full six months.

Sembcorp increased its interim dividend by 22% to 11 cents per share. Management anticipates a stronger second half driven by Alinta’s full-period contributions.
