Uber and Wayve have launched the United Kingdom’s first supervised autonomous ride-hailing service in London. Starting today, London passengers requesting UberX, Uber Electric, or Uber Comfort may be matched with a Wayve-powered vehicle.
The service utilizes all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with the Wayve AI Driver. A trained and licensed private hire driver will remain behind the wheel to oversee every trip for safety.
Riders can travel anywhere within London, excluding airports, at no additional cost. Customers retain the option to switch to a standard, non-autonomous vehicle before their pickup arrives.
