United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) concluded a decade-long restructuring to enter its Next Growth phase. CEO Jason Wang and President Ming Hsu lead the company’s largest organizational reshuffle in ten years. This transformation prioritizes R&D and marketing to drive future expansion.

Specialty-process technologies now account for more than 50% of total revenue. UMC maintains a leading position in 22-nanometer high-voltage processes. The company also holds a significant global market share in 40-nanometer high-voltage AMOLED driver ICs.

UMC is targeting AI-related data transmission and storage through silicon photonics technologies. A strategic partnership with Intel aims to deliver a jointly developed 12-nanometer process by 2027. This collaboration and the specialty-process focus remain central to the company's long-term strategy.
