Ur-Energy Inc. completed its first uranium shipment from the Shirley Basin mine to its Lost Creek processing plant in Wyoming. This milestone marks the start of full operations at the new site. The shipment transitions the company into a multi-asset domestic uranium producer.
The Shirley Basin mine serves as the company’s second in-situ recovery (ISR) operation in the state. It functions as a satellite facility to the Lost Creek hub to improve capital efficiency. This operational model avoids the need for duplicate infrastructure.
The project moved from a construction decision to active production in approximately 2.5 years. Ur-Energy now plans to ramp up the facility to full commercial production levels.
