The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued over 150 notices to major food and beverage companies. The regulator alleges misleading advertisements, false claims, and violations of labeling regulations.
Targeted entities include Nestlé India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Mondelez India, Danone India, and Ferrero India. The enforcement drive also extends to e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart.
Major food service chains KFC, McDonald's, and Domino's are also under scrutiny. The FSSAI has seized products and suspended licenses in certain cases.
Several companies have reportedly initiated corrective measures in response to the regulatory action.
