Walmart is cutting or relocating approximately 1,000 corporate positions as part of a major operational restructuring.

The company is consolidating its global technology and product teams into a single, unified platform. This move eliminates duplicative roles that previously existed across Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, and international divisions.

Affected staff must relocate to the company’s primary hubs in Bentonville, Arkansas, or Northern California. A company spokesperson stated that corporate streamlining drove the decision rather than the implementation of artificial intelligence.

Walmart continues to invest heavily in remodeling its physical stores. The restructuring aims to balance corporate expenses with customer-facing operations to improve overall efficiency.
