Equinor and its partners have approved the development concept for the Ringvei Vest project in the North Sea. This subsea development consolidates seven discoveries and one prospect into a single tie-back to the Troll B platform. The project holds an estimated 240 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Ringvei Vest ranks as one of the largest early-phase developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The plan involves drilling 13 wells to extract resources. These wells will connect to the Troll B platform through six subsea templates. Seabed systems will process the well stream to maximize efficiency.
The strategy utilizes existing infrastructure to develop marginal discoveries with lower emissions. Troll B is partially powered from shore to reduce the carbon footprint. Project partners include Vår Energi, Aker BP, and Petoro. A final decision on continuation is expected by the end of 2026.
