ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy shipped the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from the Golden Pass terminal in Texas. This milestone marks the official commencement of commercial operations at the export facility.
The project expands Exxon’s global LNG footprint and diversifies revenue streams beyond traditional oil production. The facility will reach a total capacity of 18 million tonnes of LNG per year once fully operational.
This new supply targets European and Asian markets currently seeking secure energy sources. The startup allows Exxon to monetize its natural gas resources along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
