Ford Energy and EDF Power Solutions North America signed a five-year framework agreement for large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). EDF will procure up to 4 GWh of BESS annually from the Ford Motor Company subsidiary.
The partnership targets a total deployment of up to 20 GWh of energy storage over the five-year term. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2028.
The agreement utilizes Ford Energy’s standardized DC Block BESS. This containerized system provides 5.45 MWh of capacity using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells.
