Vista Energy expanded its Vaca Muerta shale holdings following the May 7, 2026, acquisition of Equinor assets.

The company added 66.8 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) in proved reserves. These reserves stem from working interests in the Bandurria Sur and Bajo del Toro blocks.

This addition increases Vista’s total pro forma net proved reserves to 654.9 MMboe as of December 31, 2025. The transaction grants Vista a 25.1% non-operating stake in Bandurria Sur. It also includes a 35.0% stake in Bajo del Toro.

The acquired areas provide an inventory of 237 future drilling locations. Production from these assets reached 20,900 boe/d as of June 2026. This acquisition extends the company's long-term production runway.
